Richard Hermening Obituary

Funeral services for Richard Ralph "Dick" Hermening, age 66 will be Friday evening at 8 PM at Reeds Chapel with Ronnie Hayes officiating. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Hermening, formerly of Milwaukee died Monday evening Aug., 22, 2005 in Lexington.

He was born September 7, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI. He was employed by Louis Allis (Magnetek) for 20 years prior to a job transfer to Lexington in 1989. He worked as Materials Manager for A.O. Smith until his retirement in 2001.

He enjoyed playing and watching many sports including softball, bowling and golf. Many weeknight evenings found him at the kitchen table helping his granddaughters with their homework.

Even after his relocation to Tennessee he closely followed his boyhood professional sports teams from Wisconsin including the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks. He was also a Tennessee Titan fan.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Pauline (nee Bloechl);

5 sons, Kevin (Wendy) Hermening of Mosinee, WI, Kelly (Kyongae) Hermening of Middleburg, FL, Chris Hermening of Las Vegas, NV, Donald Richter of Lexington, TN and Dan Richter of Cudahy, WI; 3 daughters, Laure (Paul) Stanszewsky of Wind Lake, WI, Amy (Paul) Conway of Milwaukee, WI and Doreen Richter of Lexington, TN; 3 sisters, Donna Zenisek of Sussex, WI, Beverly (Jim) Pettit of Milwaukee, WI and Nancy (Larry) Maloney of Wauwatosa, WI; 2 brothers, Joe Hermening of Milwaukee, WI and Jim Hermening of Pell Lake, WI; step-parents, Herbie Laudon and Gwen Hermening of Milwaukee, WI; and several nieces and nephews and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Hermening and Esther Laudon.

Visitation with the Hermening family will be Friday, August 26 from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6PM until 8 PM at Reeds Chapel.

Aunt Pauline,

I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dick was such a wonderful man with such a kind, warm heart. He is someone that many admired and looked up to just as I did and he will be missed greatly. The service on Friday was just beautiful- just what Uncle Dick would've wanted. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.
