Some very exciting basketball teams in the 70's. Fun to watch the high scoring offense. Seemed ahead of his time with the run n gun offense. Met him years later in Scottsdale and he was wearing a UW Eau Claire tshirt and that started the conversation.

My fondest memories of my years at Don Bosco were being a student in Mr. Knar's algebra class. He was a no-nonsense teacher known for disciplining class "clowns" by literally taking their books and throwing them out into the hall and telling them to "get out and go see the principal"! I recall his wife was a great looking young lady who taught the boys cheerleading squad and many more boys joined the ranks.
Mr. Knar was an outstanding, teacher, coach and great role model for us teenage boys....too bad we don't have more teachers like him today.
My prayers for Mr. Knar and sympathies to his family.

So sad to hear this news. So many memories of cheering on the basketball team at UW-FDL. Great coach. Even better man. Coach, you will be missed.

Renee and all the "little" Knars, Pls accept our most sincere condolences. Coach brought many athletes in a wide range of skill to mold winners.
What ever the sport, we respected his knowledge and enthusiasm.
Even some of us sat in his class where he was as knowledgeable in calculus as the sports he coached. Only if you dozed off, be ready as a piece of chalk could fly.
With love and respect!!
