Just heard the terrible news of Dr. Sielick's passing. He was the most wonderful person I ever met. My dog Brandy just loved him. Whenever I would say Dr's name my dog would wag her tail and get ready to go visit him. My Brandy died in July and Dr. Sielicki was at our side the whole time. He even cried when we let Brandy down. He was our vet for 12 wonderful years. I will miss Dr. Sielcki so very much. My heart is just aching. He was the BEST!

I just found out that Dr. Sielicki passed away; I'm shocked and saddened. What a loss! He was a nice, funny person and a wonderful vet. He took care of my 3 cats over the last 9 years. Dr. Sielicki was gentle, knowledgeable, patient, and especially caring during the illness of my cat Bo and the difficult decision-making process of saying good-bye to my furry friend. My sympathy goes out to his family, friends and co-workers. I'm attaching a photo from a video my husband happened to take 1 month ago when we brought Ole in for his check-up.

Rich will be greatly missed! I first met Rich in 1988 at Michigan State University when I was a fourth year veterinary student and he was a small animal internal medicine resident. He helped train me to be the veterinary I am today.

After I graduated in 1989, I took a job in the Detroit area but I would still call Rich at the University to ask his advice on cases I was seeing. He was always a willing and abundant fount of information and advice.

Over the years I would run into him around the country at conferences. Who would have known that in a very last minute, chance encounter at the ACVIM Conference in San Diego in 1998 as I was literally 30 seconds from leaving the conference for good and ran into Rich. That brief meeting eventually led to him recruiting me to move to Milwaukee and work for him at Crawford Animal Hospital.

I will miss him and we are at a loss without him.

Dr. Sielicki has been our vet for the last 12 years. He took great care of our 3 greyhounds and was the only vet we trusted with our dogs. He will really be missed. I'm still in shock that he's gone.

Dr Sielicki was more than just a great Vet, he was a wonderful friend. As a Vet he had a way of calming our cats, they just loved him! They were so relaxed with him they would purr and roll on the exam table when he came into the exam room. He was always on top of the latest treatments or ideas to help our cats. Who would think of hydrotherapy for an aging arthritic kitty? Dr S did and that gave us 2 more good years with Pumpkin. We just loved and respected him so much. When the time came for us to say good bye to our furry family members, he was caring and respectful and I know it sometimes hurt him as much as us. He truly loved his animal patients and it showed.
Our hearts go out to his coworkers and family. He has left us with an empty heart. Our only consolation is that God must have decided he was done with all the good works he did for all the animals he took care of and it was time for his place in Heaven. He is up there now with our Chelsea, Spencer, Bristol and Pumpkin.
We will miss him.

Dr. Sielicki was a great veterinarian and a truly special person. We are just heartbroken at his passing.
Veterinarians hold our hearts in their hands when they are caring for our animals; Dr. Sielicki understood this and took exceptional care of us all. He was truly one of the kindest, most sincere people we’ve ever met, always gentle and compassionate. He took time to connect with our dogs, to really see them, and was so patient with all of our questions and concerns.
Dr. Sielicki let his feelings show in everything he did. He shared our sadnesses, and the joy in his voice was unmistakable when he was delivering good news.
One of many examples of Dr. Sielicki’s devotion to his patients was the special care he provided for our Pugs when we brought them in recently to have their teeth cleaned. He came in twice on his day off to monitor them personally while they were under anesthesia. Our Seemore had his appointment on December 1st, and Dr. Sielicki called me at 9:41am to tell me that they were finished and that Seemore had come through the procedure just fine. I made a special point of telling him how much we appreciated him coming in on his day off and thanking him for everything he did for us all. I’m incredibly sad to think we won’t talk again, but so glad our last words were of thanks and that he knew how grateful we were for his attention and care.
Dr. Sielicki, I’m sure that St Francis was standing right next to St. Peter to welcome you through the Gates of Heaven, and I hope that it’s full of all of the wonderful creatures you’ve cared so well for over the years. You’ll be missed terribly, but not forgotten.

Dr. Sielicki was such a friendly, kind hearted, well respected man and veterinarian. It has been a pleasure getting to work with him as a local colleague - he was always more than supportive and willing to help others out. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Dr. Sielicki has helped care for my dogs for the past 16 years. I have never known Crawford Animal Hospital without him.
He was a kind generous person. He always went out of the way to make sure he calmed and soothed not only my dogs but me as well.
I can't even imagine how I would have gotten through both of my dogs cancers without Dr. Sielicki's help. He was a calm blessing to a frazzled owners soul.
The world has lost a wonderful veterinary and a kind and gentle soul.
My thoughts and prayers go to his family, friends and his co-workers at Crawford.
He will be greatly missed by us all.

I had the privilege of working with Rich at Crawford Animal Hospital back when I first entered the field of veterinary medicine in 2000. He was an incredibly knowledgeable and generous man and veterinarian. I learned a great deal and will forever be indebted to Dr.Sielicki for the opportunities he provided as he helped shape me into the veterinary assistant I am today. He was fun to work with and made us all laugh to the point of hysterics. Thank you for the great and unforgettable memories and may you be greeted by love and comfort from all the furry friends you ever helped in your life. As you cared for them here they will care for you now in the place where the rainbow ends.
Many blessings and prayers to his family and friends during this trying time.

I worked with Dr. Sielicki for 8 years at Crawford Animal Hospital. I started there as a Certified Veterinary Technician right out of college. I was scared and very timid, as this was my first job as a Vet Tech. Rich was a kind man who taught me so much. He would make me laugh and smile every day! My experience at Crawfords made me the Tech I am today and Dr. Sielicki is part of that experience. He will be sadly missed but certainly never forgotten. He was taken much too soon from all of us - a wonderful man with nothing but compassion for the veterinary field, his clients and most certainly his patients. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time - including his family at Crawfords.

Dr. Sielicki was recommended to us by my sister, (he was her family vet and they loved him), and he has been our vet for over 11 years. He caringly helped us through the lost of our two year old Westie, and has been the only vet our current 10 year old Wesite has even known. Dr Sielicki was so gentle and caring, We know our dogs felt his love. We will miss him terribly. Our deepest sympathies to his family.

I remember Rich very well. We were in vet school together. He was always helpful and cheerful, even when the class load was getting many of us down. He was sincerely dedicated to his patients. Please be assured that my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

My dog Sadie was scheduled to see Dr.Sielicki this Monday. I was shocked to get the call on Friday that he had passed away. I've been taking my dogs to him for the last 18 years. I moved awhile back and Crawford was no longer convenient to get to anymore, but I refused to go anywhere else because of Dr. Sielicki. He was the kindness veterinarian ever. Thank you so much for all of your wisdom, support and compassion for almost 2 decades, you will truly be missed! My prayers are with his family.

Crawford has been our pet care provider for many years, Rich was a strong contributor to the care given to all their patients. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by the entire staff, not only for his medical skills, but for his pleasing personality. It must feel as if they have lost a member of the family.

Years ago we were looking for a pet clinic that had more soul than the sterile places we had been taking our cat. We honestly selected Crawford Animal Hospital because they were in a house like structure with beautiful perennial gardens. We thought that if they took the time to have flowers that came back year after year, then their attention to detail would be reflected in their treatment plans as well. We were right.

Dr. Sielicki was the most wonderful veterinarian. He cared for our animals for 14 years. While all of his partners were fine, Dr. Sielicki was connected to our pets. He really got them. He took time to truly know what was going on with them. I believe he got to know them on a spiritual level. He would talk to them with passion and listen to the pets. One cat we had was abused and Dr. Sielicki could draw her out and get her to turn into a sweetheart in an instant. The love affair those two had together was noticed by everyone. When she died, Dr. Sielicki sent us a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I still have the note he sent. It was so meaningful and helpful in the mourning process.

Another factor that upped the level of care that we received at Crawford Animal Hospital were the educational materials we received. Dr. Sielicki was often the author of the majority of those materials. The puppy guide they give out is the most expertly written guide without overwhelming the new puppy parent. The newsletters are informative and I always read them cover to cover. That information really took Crawford up a notch in patient benefits.

When our bearded collies were puppies we had pet insurance. One of our dogs had been born with a health problem that could be repaired but the surgery was costly. Dr. Sielicki went out of his way to contact the insurance company and made a case for our dog to have the surgery to improve her quality of life. It made a huge difference for all of us living with her and her overall happiness. That wouldn't have happened without him going out of his way to see that she got the care she needed.

Our beloved Cosmo, a bearded collie of ours had odd health problems due to an accident as a puppy. He was also our very sensitive dog. Cosmo felt everything from tension in the home, a change in food, and our angry neighbor all were noticed by Cosmo. He took it all to heart. Dr. Sielicki really understood that. He knew that what was standard procedure wouldn't necessarily work with Cosmo. He also knew exactly how we cared for our pets and always gave us options and solutions that were reflective of us, our pet's history and our family standards. We got to a point with Dr. Sielicki that we could call him and say, he has X again, and Dr. Sielicki would prescribe medication for us to come pick up. I saw Dr. Sielicki more often than I see most friends. My partner commented, that she saw him more than her own sibling.

Many businesses claim to be part of a customer's family. I think most of the time, that is a meaningless ad line. Not so with Dr. Sielicki. We truly were part of his family practice. He was a trusted advisor who we adored.

I am not going to tell you he loved every pet equally. We have had four pets over 14 years and two of them, my late cat JeTaime and most recently our dog Cosmo had a special place in Dr. Sielicki's heart - moreso than the others. I believe he knew which animals had older spirits. Those were the wiser of my animals.

Cosmo was a very difficult animal to part with. His health was up and down this last year and we worked very closely with Dr. Sielicki to monitor his care. On Monday, Cosmo become more ill and we decided it was time to put him down. Gwen at the office, offered to give me an appointment that day or wait for Dr. Sielicki to do it as he was on vacation this past Monday. My gut told me not to wait. Loosing Cosmo was like loosing an immediate family member. Friday morning I received the call that Dr. Sielicki had passed away. Friday afternoon a handwritten card, in Dr. Sielicki's pen arrived telling us how special our dog was and how he would be missed. How ironic that I lost my dog and his health care provider in the same week.

Thank you for all you did Dr. Sielicki to touch so many on this earth and to make the world an amazing place to live with animals. We adored you. We pray you were called on to do more healing in the spirit world. Rest in peace you beautiful soul.
