Robert G. "Bob" Apel

1923 - 2014

Apel, Robert G. "Bob" Age 91, of Wauwatosa and Big Cedar Lake, passed away May 14, 2014 at Jackson Crossings, with his loving wife Midge by his side. He was born January 8, 1923, in Milwaukee, the youngest child of Edward and Jeanette (nee Devold) Apel. Bob served our country in the US Army during WWII. He was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving many years as an Elder, and also in Our Redeemer Lutheran School. Bob worked at Miller Brewing Company for over 40 years, and also worked as a Real Estate Broker for many years. He was a devoted husband and wonderful, fun father. Bob loved spending time at the cottage, fishing, working outdoors in the yard, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He greatly enjoyed his grandsons. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Agnes C. "Midge" (nee Cullen) Apel; daughter Peggy (Tom) Bruce of West Bend; and son Jeffrey (Dianne) Apel of West Milwaukee; his five adored grandsons Chris (Lacey) Bruce of Markesan, Chad (Amber) Bruce of Wauwatosa, Bob (Brooke) Bruce of Ripon, Noah Robert Apel and Nicholas "Cole" Jeffrey Apel, both of West Milwaukee; and his two cherished great-grandsons Brayden and Lucas Bruce. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Bob is preceded in death by his brothers Chester and Emmett; and his sisters Dorothy Stahnke, Bernice Pritchard, June Gruell and Norine Lamb. Visitation Monday, May 19, 2014 from 11 AM - 1 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10025 West North Avenue, Wauwatosa. Funeral Service will follow at 1 PM at the Church. Mr. Robert Burger will officiate. Interment will be Tues. at 10:30 AM at Washington County Memorial Park Cemetery, 3358 Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI.
