Robert H. "Bob" Eldridge

Eldridge, Robert H. "Bob" Longtime resident of Elm Grove passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018, surrounded by his family at the age of 80. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, his children, Lisa (Lyle) Fitterer, Jennifer (Brian) Sprinkman, Robert (Heather) Eldridge and Mark (Molly) Eldridge; grandchildren, McKenna, Annika, and Jack Fitterer, Sarah and Kate Sprinkman, Delaney and Carrigan Eldridge, and Lily and Charlotte Eldridge. He is further survived by siblings, Jeanne (the late Jim) Pratt, James (Mary) and Donald (Mary) Eldridge; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his devoted aunt, Marie Schumacher, and his brother John, who passed away at a young age. Bob was born in Green Bay, WI, the son of Cyril and Florence (nee Dorschel) Eldridge. Bob, a proud graduate in Marquette University High School's class of 1956, earned his bachelor's degree in accounting at Marquette University, graduating with honors in 1960. Bob's career began as a Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Andersen. There he worked as an accountant for many clients, including Briggs & Stratton, where he was hired in 1966 and held various positions, retiring as Chief Financial Officer after 34 years with the company. In his personal life, Bob enjoyed taking in a game with his family and friends. He was a Green Bay Packers season ticket holder since 1962, and held Marquette men's basketball tickets for decades, including during the glory days of Al McGuire. He enjoyed Milwaukee Braves, Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks games, and attended the Masters Tournament numerous times. Bob also enjoyed coaching and playing sports. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member at Lac La Belle Golf Club in Oconomowoc. Over the years, he enjoyed many vacations with family and friends. In his honor, a visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, at St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish, (1260 Church St. Elm Grove) from 9:30 a.m., until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Reception to follow. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association in Bob's name would be appreciated. The family thanks the staff at the Silverado Memory Care in Brookfield, Hometown Hospice and Genesis Therapies, and Dr. Terrence Hughes for their care and compassion.
