Robert Dallas Gerzine

Gerzine, Robert Dallas 88, of Scottsdale, AZ was the Long-Loving husband of Vera (Perk) Gerzine and The BEST Dad to his daughters Gaye Gerzine and Lori Cuisinier. While he might not have known, Dad touched the lives of many by simply being who he was - super smart, kind of corny, rarely grumpy and always positive, good and kind. An eccentric "rock" as solid as the imported boulders on his Scottsdale property. Bob's military career initially took him to Luke Air Force Base, AZ in the early '50s where he earned his pilot's "wings". His twenty-year career as an aerospace engineer included working on the first Titan missiles at Cape Canaveral, FL where the family survived numerous hurricanes and collected iguanas as pets. (Bob was known to collect things ... and was a nonstop "project guy".) During his San Jose, CA assignment, Bob worked (unknowingly to his family) on the then-classified Airborne Warning and Control System. Not being a man afraid of change, upon his 1972 retirement the Gerzine family immigrated to Montreal, Canada where he spent five enjoyable (and social, for Bob!) years as a badminton and tennis professional at the oldest private club in Canada. When Quebec politics heated up and weather got colder, Bob and Perk settled in Scottsdale where during these forty-plus years he made many friends from diverse backgrounds who greatly valued his wisdom, experience and "glass always half- full philosophy". We all love you so much and miss you already, Dad. You now soar in the wild blue yonder .... A Celebration of Life was held at Messinger Fountain Hills (12065 N. Saguaro Blvd in Scottsdale) on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 2PM.
