Robert Tess Obituary

Robert Edward Tess

Went peacefully to heaven on December 11, 2020 after a short illness with Covid19. Born in Milwaukee, Bob grew up and lived in the Milwaukee/West Allis area. He was loved for his humor, hard work, his love of life and friendships. He was one of the best fathers a kid could have.

Bob married Janice Dieckhoff on February 18, 1950. They were married for 65 years and had 3 loving daughters: Susan Wied, Barbara (Wes) Mueller and JoAnn (Donald) Piburn. He was the proud grandfather of Erin (Craig) Bolz, Stacey (Dan) Adamczyk, Heather Imrie, Jennifer Piburn, and Rachel (Grant) Schneider, and loving great-grandfather of Shawn Bolz, Addison Adamczyk, Sophie Adamczyk, Sullivan Pink, and Alena Schneider.

After World War II, Bob joined the army where he served in Germany. He retired as Battalion Chief of the West Allis Fire Department in 1983. He spent winters in Mesa Az with Janice, where he enjoyed the pool and lawn bowling as well as other activities.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Janice, brother Kenneth (Delores) Tess and sister Audrey (Christopher) Drilias. Bob is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Dad had several charities to which he donated. If you wish, please send memorials to the charity of your choosing in his name.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 19 at First United Methodist Church, 7520 W. Lapham St. West Allis at 10:00 AM until memorial service at 11:00 AM. Private interment at Highland Memorial Park.
