Robert Wolfgram Obituary

Robert "Bob" L. Wolfgram

(Jan. 19, 1933 - Nov. 14, 2019}

It is with profound sadness that the family of Bob Wolfgram announce his passing at the age of 86, however, we are happy that he has been reunited with his son Mike Wolfgram, mother and father Marguerite and Raymond Wolfgram (both of whom he lost as a young child), his granddaughter Danielle Wolfgram, his brother Raymond Wolfgram and other dear friends and family members who have passed through the years.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joyce Mary (Asenbauer) to whom he was joined in holy matrimony on June 19, 1954. They have six children: Mike (Debbie) Wolfgram, Colleen (Rick) Kalscheuer, Bob (Sue) Wolfgram, Dan (Lori) Wolfgram, Margie (Patrick) Klink and Jeff (Paige) Wolfgram. They have 15 grandchildren: Tiffany (Mike) Kirchner and Kacie Wolfgram; Ryan, Andy and Annie Kalscheuer; Becky Houston, Sara (Andrew) Nick, and Vince and Bobby (Logan) Wolfgram; Kellie and Nick Wolfgram; Karrah and Maddie Klink; and Stephanie Wolfgram and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Don (Sharon) Wolfgram, sisters-in-law Diane (Bob) Dorn and Grace Wolfgram, and many dear nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including his life-long card club friends and golfing buddies.

Bob was born in Waukegan, IL, and most recently resided in Pewaukee, WI. He was a patriotic American, proudly serving during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy as a seaman recruit and the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM and at Thule Air Force Base in Greenland (750 miles north of the Arctic Circle - the armpit of Earth as Bob would say).

Bob was an enthusiast of life, pursuing active interests in all Wisconsin sports teams, golf, softball, tennis, racquetball, travel, boating, cribbage, poker and sheepshead, fishing (haha), pool, ping-pong and reading. He attended church weekly where he served as an usher, lector and festival leader. He also supported his kids in their activities by coaching baseball, attending concerts and watching half-time pom-pon routines.

Bob devoted the last 16 years of his life to the daily care and comfort of Joyce.

All services for Bob will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Hartland, WI. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, mass will be held at noon and a luncheon will follow.

The family extends its deepest thanks and love to the staff and hospice workers at Franciscan Place who attended to his care during the last year of Bob's life and to Fr. Ken Omernick.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the St. Charles Cornerstone Project.

When my mother was in Franciscan Woods I would drop in and say hello to him. I really respected his devoted times he spent with his wife through theirs.

I met Bob when I worked as a receptionist at Franciscan Woods and immediately noticed his devotion to Joyce. He was there everyday, usually twice a day and we immediately became acquainted and found out we agreed on a lot of things. I admired his devotion to so many things, his wife, children, country, and friends. We had many talks about life, politics, sports and family. I remember the day after he was able to meet the governor, he couldn't wait to come and tell me, he was so excited. He loved this country and was equally excited when he took his honor flight; he was so patriotic and loved this country. He loved to show me the Christmas cactus in Joyce's room and every time it bloomed. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. The world has indeed lost "one of the good guys". I pray you find peace in knowing he's reunited with so many loved ones. Prayers and blessings to the family.

Rest in Peace uncle Bob. Hope you can hunt down your brother and your son to watch the big game together Sunday night. You and aunt Joyce did a great job raising six fantastic children. That among many other things you can be very proud of. It was cool having you for an uncle, even though we did not connect much in the last years. You talked me into keeping our last name in my businesss name when I went off on my own :-) I will always remember that day sitting down with you.
