Roy Lemke Obituary

Lemke, Roy A. Passed from this life to Eternal Life on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the age of 82 years, from complications of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Beloved husband of Mavis (nee Ratz) Lemke for 58 years. He was born in Breed, WI, lived most of his married life in the Milwaukee area and retired to Shawano Lake and Zephyrhills, FL. Loving father of Susan (Eugene) Gilbertson, Joy (Greg Ladzinski) Ulleweit, and Cathy (Scott) Golden. Most proud grandfather to Kelly (Manuel) Ramirez, Adam Golden, Mary (Grant) Hultman, Diana Dawson and Jessica (Mark) Wray. Bemused great-grandfather of Lucas, Adelia and A.J. (who is expected any day now). Further survived by sisters Helen Trevor and Ada Prochaska, and brother Richard (Betty) Lemke. Brother-in-law to Caroline Curtis and Mel (Diane) Ratz. He and Mavis both came from very large families and he will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Roy served his country in WWII and the Korean War. After service he started working as a laborer at a small company called Super Excavators and eventually became it's President until his retirement. He was a founder of Valley Rod and Gun Club in Merton, WI and loved to fish, hunt and golf. Memorials to the Angelman Foundation are suggested as he loved and wanted to help his grandson Lucas who was born with Angelman Syndrome. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Town of Washington, W4496 County Rd. E, Bonduel, WI, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the service at 12 noon. To all the Lemke's,
I am very sorry for the loss of Roy. I, although it has been 40 some years, have fond memories of him down in the basement with Cathy filling the shells and going to the shooting range with him. May he find eternal peace. An old neighbor.
