To all of Ryan's loved ones, I share my deepest sympathy. I was overwhelmed by the news of his passing. I am a musician--he and I connected at an art fair in west Chicago years ago and talked for almost two hours until I was late to leave. Music and art--with a passion! I felt, instantly, that he was a kindred spirit, as we both shared something below the surface, maybe the same need to express ourselves. And he did so in such a beautiful way.

Collaborating with him on an art piece several months later was such an inspiring endeavor, we both had such respect for one another. I was struck by his open-heartedness, his passion, his honesty, his gentleness, and his shear artistic talent. These qualities so rarely coexist in one person, it takes such courage.

I'm honored to have crossed paths with him, and to have had the opportunity to work with him. He will continue to inspire me towards those qualities in my own life and work. That was his gift, I know many must have received it.

Sending love to you all.
Sincerely,
Antony

Dear Tilney,

I want you to know that I've always admired your marriage and your business from afar. I regularly check the Man vs. George Design page on Facebook, so I was shocked to see that he recently passed. I am so sorry, Tilney. I can only express my sincerest sympathies for your loss. I have never forgotten the friendship that I had with Ryan during my undergraduate career in Madison. I saw him as an older brother or father figure - something I so desperately needed at that time in my life. I know that I haven't been part of Ryan's life for several years - but I've always kept him in my heart. He was an incredibly smart, funny, and sensitive person. I never met anyone that could match his wit. I cherished our friendship. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts.

Saddest of losses. Ryan was a gem of a soul and an incomparable artist. Thoughtful, clever, brilliant, kind. Almost non-stop laughter in conversations with him, and he left an exquisite legacy, artistically and as a friend. This one reaches into the soul. Wishing much peace to Tilney and all of Ryan's family.

A talented artist, keen sense of humor, and friendly demeanor are but a small sample of what the world lost with Ryan. Rest in peace.

Ryan had a calming, warm, welcoming nature. I wish I'd known him better, but regardless, I will certainly never forget his winsome smile.

His wit and ability to make light about most things. He was such a sweet man. I will miss laughing and talking about life and art with him. I loved how much he adored Tilney.
