Ryan Heffner Obituary

Heffner, Ryan Oliver Age 44, entered Heaven's gates on November 26, 2014. He was born on October 28, 1970 and grew up in Oconomowoc, WI. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Barbara, their two children, Sara (10) , Will (4), his parents, Allen and Diana Heffner and his sister Annie Nowak. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ryan was a dedicated father, husband and son. He will always be remembered for his kind and caring heart and quick witted humor. Ryan enjoyed working with his 4th and 5th grade students over the last two decades and he made learning fun! Ryan had a true passion for playing his guitar and he's surely rockin' out with his new band in Heaven and eating chicken wings every night! Ryan will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, his students and all whose lives he has touched over the years. Please join Ryan's family on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 for a visitation starting at 3:00 PM, with a service to follow at 6:00 PM, all to take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the education fund that has been established for Sara and Will. Checks can be made out to "The Ryan Heffner Fund" at Brewery Credit Union, 1351 N. Martin Luther King Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53212

I am so very sorry to learn that Ryan has passed! I am a Wauwatosa School District substitute teacher who enjoyed learning from Ryan, observing his incredible rapport with students, and experiencing his generosity with colleagues. His smile lit up the environment around him. I extend my sincere sympathy to his family. He will be dearly missed by so many but will live on the the hearts of all those he touched with his warmth.

RIP Ryan. We never met but you had to be amazing from everything I've read about you.

Our deepest sympathies are extended to all. Ryan was our son, Kyle's, 4th grade teacher at Eisenhower and was loved by all of his students. Ryan was an inspiring teacher and taught his many students about what is important in life. Kyle and my husband, Scott, connected with Ryan in their and his favorite past time, guitars. Words cannot express how saddened we are by Ryan's death...he was taken from this earth way too early, but, his memory will live in each of our hearts forever! To Ryan's wife and children, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to Ryan's entire family. Ryan was a gifted individual. He always made the person he was speaking to feel valued and important. This gift was evident in his classroom. Students were held to high expectations when it came to respect and responsibility that were met because they were made to feel safe and at home. I had the honor of working with him for many years as he helped me with my students with special needs. Though it was an honor to work with him it was a bigger honor to be his friend. He had a pure kind heart coupled with a brilliant sense of humor. I will always remember him as one who did the right thing even when no one was watching, and always fun to be with. I talked to him the last time last year when I moved. He said to me "I think God puts us where he wants us to be." Well Ryan I will never understand why you are where you are so young but my faith tells me I will one day. Until then Godspeed to you dear friend.

To Mr. H's family, I had the pleasure of meeting Ryan when I was a D.A.R.E. instructor. His passion for teaching and his unique laugh were quite infectious. He has definitely touched a lot of lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
