William Heffner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Funeral Home - McColl on Dec. 30, 2025.
McColl

William Jakob Heffner, known as Bill to his family and friends, was born on October 10, 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyn Heffner and James Heffner, and by his brothers Allen Heffner, Dennis Heffner, Joseph Heffner, and Vernon Heffner.

He is survived by his sisters, Earlene Heffner-French (Kenneth) of McColl, Susan Butler (Billy) of McColl, and Shonna Heffner of Laurinburg, who will forever cherish his memory.

He proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police officer, where he served with honor until receiving an honorable discharge. His service reflected his strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and dedication. Following his military service, he was well known for his love of carpentry, taking pride in working with his hands and doing quality work.

One of his greatest joys was fishing, a passion he shared with his father. Being by the water brought him peace and happiness, it was truly his happy place. He also deeply cherished the time he spent with his niece and nephew, Mylonna and MJ. Whether taking them to the park or walking all over town together, those moments meant the world to him. They held a very special place in his heart.

He will be remembered for his love of family, his hardworking nature, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He could be a butt hole, but he was ours.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Rogers Cemetery in McColl. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Friday, January 2, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home of McColl.
