MCCOLL, S.C. — William Robert "Bobby" Mangum, 92, of McColl, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at his residence.
Bobby was born on Sept. 27, 1933, in McColl. He was the son of the late Edward F. and Rosalyn Jones Mangum. He retired after years of working as a market manager in the grocery business. Bobby was a former member of McColl Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed bowling, golf and baseball. He played semi-pro baseball as a member of the Plymouth Rocks.
Bobby was a member of Main Street Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Club. He loved his church and church family. Most of all, he loved his family and cherished spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Megan Roller; a brother, Wesley Dean Wright; and a sister, Anita Delinda Deaver.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Betty Pate Mangum of the home; a daughter, Susan Ann Mangum Roller (John) of McColl; a brother, George Wilson Wright of McColl; a grandson, John Gunnar Mangum Roller (Tracie) of McColl; great-grandchildren, Kieran Roller, Kaiser Roller, and Gaxton Roller; several other extended family members also survive.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Main Street Methodist Church in McColl, followed by burial in Rogers Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., just prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Main Street Methodist Church, C/O P.O. Box 48, McColl, SC 29570. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.rogersofmccoll.com.
