To the Bauer family, I guess it's hard to know what to say at a time like this. Both of our families have suffered a lot of loss this year. I can only think God has good reason for this. Shawn and Donny are looking down on us, I'm sure of that. They were kind and fun to be around. So many memories growing up... Clarisse my heart goes out to you. I'm sorry you have to suffer. Please remember all the good times we had and if you would like to call my # is 262-968-6764. Your friend Kolleen

I didn't really know Shawn, but my mom was talking on the phone one day and it got brought up that we both play guitar. So my mom, Mary handed me the phone and we jammed on the phone together for a while and he seemed like a very nice guy. I am very sorry for your loss.

Shawny was a special friend, a gentle spirit, and forever in my heart. We had so much fun together in our youth, and I will always cherish that time in my life. He made me laugh! He was that kind, sweet person that always made me feel safe and secure. He showed me how we should all be for each other. I will miss him so.
Love,
Mary

Uncle Bob & family-
I am very sorry for your loss. I have good memories of playing basketball with Shawn (and Bob, too) at the cottage on Silver Birch. I like thinking of Shawn as being with Grandpa and Aunt Flo now though. You're in my thoughts & prayers.

Shawn was very very close to my family. He was a friend, mentor, a brother, uncle, musician and a Grandpa, he was a kind and funny person who will be missed dearly. Its hard to come to reality that he is gone. However Shawn is in a much better place with God now. Looking down upon all of us and watching over each of his loved ones. To my mother Shawn loved you very much, and I know you loved him. I am here for you mom whenever you need me. Dont forget that.

Uncle Bob and Family-
I have alot of fond memories of Shawn and the rest of your family from when our families could get together, unfortunately we did not do that enough. I will always remember, there was a lot of laughter and I always felt at home when we visted. Although I was younger than everyone, they always made me feel welcome and included. Shawn will be missed very much, he is in a better place and with Aunt Flo. We all have some special guardian angels now! I am sorry we were not able to attend services. My prayers are with your family at this difficult time. Much Love.

I am so sorry for your loss, I have only known Shawn for a short time, however I knew him to be a sensitive and compassionate person who wanted desperately to make a positive change in his life for himself as well as his loved ones. Our deepest sympathies to the Bauer Family.
Shawn was a brother to me in many ways-
I played in my first band with him...
I bought my first "real guitar" with him...
Shawn and Jeff Hagenkord bought me my first "real amplifier" for my birthday...
I met my wife through a girlfriend he had 25 years ago...
He was my Best Man at our wedding 20 years ago...
He got his first pet (Samantha the cat) from my Wife and I...
He helped my wife and I move into our first house 20 years ago...
He helped my Wife and I move into our 2nd house 15 years ago...
My first golf outing was with Shawn and his Dad at Warnimont Park...
The list goes on- and like any friendship there were many ups and downs, but I will always love him like a Brother, and even though I'm glad he's finally at peace now, his spirit will always live on with me.

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
Wendy, my heart goes out to you and to the Bauer family. Shawn did indeed rise many times with your help, and we look forward in sure and certain hope to rise with him someday.
With my heartfelt prayers,
Terry

Wow! I am having a hard time imagining that this has really happened! Wendy, I am so sorry for your loss. As long as I've known you, it's been you and Shawn. I remember how many times he would call you through out the night when we'd have our "girl's night out". He cared for you so much and you for him. Just last month , I recall you telling me how much you loved him...and then true to form, he called you. I know you will miss those calls. Shawn was a kind, gentle soul, and a gentleman. I know that you will find it hard to wake up each morning without him. I know that Christmas time will be difficult from here on out, but please take comfort in knowing that Shawn died surrounded by friends and family, and not left to die alone. That was God's will.
Shawn would not want you to be sad, but he'd want you to remember all the beautiful years you were given to spend together.
I will keep you both in my prayers, but I wish I could do more.
Love & prayers,
Patty

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)
Dear Brian, Erin, Dion, and Mr. Bauer: I am deeply saddened to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are for you at this most difficult time.

Shawn was my favorite cousin and I have many happy memories of him. Getting together either at his uncle cabin in Durand or I would come down to visit. I will miss him very much. He is now with his mom and my mom looking down at us and keeping us safe. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Bob and Family.........
My heart goes out to all of you for the loss of Shawn. I fondly remember Shawn's carefree attitude as he had LOTS of fun with John/Bill during my summers at Grandma and Grandpa's. He will be missed, but he is at peace now. I'm sure he's happy to be "at home" with his Mother.
Take care and you have my deepest condolences on the loss of Shawn.

He was my Uncle and I loved him dearly. When i was born he was 13 years old so he was more of a brother to me than an uncle we did alot of fun things toeghter concerts he is the reason i know so much about music. And when i was little and would spend time and weekends at my grandma's we had the best time playing cards and he told the best jokes. After i was married and had children we did not always get to see each other but would email each other alot. I will miss him dearly life will not be the same without him. I have another angel looking down at me and he is at peace.
