Jewell , Shirley J. (Nee Bruens) December 10, 2010, age 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack R. Jewell. Loving mother of John (Susan), Jean (Dick) Risch, Jim (Jeanne), Tom (Roxane), Tim (Theresa) and Bob (Lisa) Jewell. Proud grandmother of Christy (J.D.), John (Jamie), Joe (Crystal), Kim (Andy), Stephanie, Katie, Jenny, Dan, Lisa, Sara, Matt, Becca, Jake, Peter, Josh, Jessie, Jordan, Lucas and Adell. Great - grandmother of John, Sam, Carter, Ava and Isabelle. Dearest sister of Betty Gehl. Further survived by other relatives and numerous good friends. Visitation at the funeral home Friday, Dec. 17, 4:00-7:00PM with a vigil service at 7:00PM. Please meet Saturday, Dec. 18, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., at 1:30 PM for Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Leonard Barbian officiating. Interment to follow at St. Martin of Tours Church Cemetery. Shirley was a 1949 Marquette University graduate, Chi Sigma Chi Sorority, teacher, coach and den mother. Mom was a lover of the great north woods and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her cottage in Eagle River. Shirley spent her life living and sharing her deep faith. Special thank you to the staff of St. Luke's Hospital for their loving care of Shirley and her family. Many thanks to all of Mom's wonderful friends and neighbors for helping us keep her at home. I am very sad to hear of Shirley's passing and please accept my deepest condolences. I knew Shirley through Bob & Lucy Reich, and over the years ran into her at different events. She recently came to Clement Manor for lunch with a few of my residents and we shared a nice talk. I will truely miss her - Cheryl Nelson
