Fr. Silas was our SLS dorm sergeant in St Joseph Hall in 1952, and then later our chemistry teacher. I hated chemistry at the time, and then went on to Marquette and made it my profession for the next 40 years. We remember him fondly. Adieu to a good quiet reserved man of God.

What a wonderful human being we have lost. We were together at the Franciscan Institute - I as a "know-it-all" professor, Silas as an unassuming student who really did know it all and knew what it was like to truly live the Capuchin values we shared - yours truly with a head knowledge, he with one of the heart!!
My prayer of gratitude for having known him. May he rest in God's love
