Dear Mr and Mrs Kachelmeier, Jenny, Amy,and Kelley: Linda and I want to express our deepest sympathies to all of you for your loss. It was my honor and privilege to be able to say that I was Steve's teacher and coach. Steve was a dedicated athlete and team leader. I saw him go from being an awkward teenager to a mature young man. I would have been proud to have called Steve my son. Jenny and Amy, I know how much you both meant to Steve, and I also know how proud of him you were. I will always remember Steve's bright eyes and contagiuos smile. With Steve's passing, the Oak Creek Wrestling community has suffered another tremendous loss. We will all miss Steve, but please find comfort in knowing that he touched so many lives in a positive way that he will never be forgotten. Linda and I will keep Steve and your families in our prayers. May God grant you peace and comfort in the days to come. Very Sincerely, Jim and Linda Hauerwas

It was a terrible heartbreak this morning when I saw Steve's name in the obituaries. John and I send our deepest sympathy to all the family. We had so many good times together during the kid's high school years. Just the thought of them bring such joy. Jenny, you girls still hold the record at the high school for the two mile relay. What happy days those were. We can't even imagine your grief right now. I hope this will bring you some small comfort. Love, Margie and John Redmond

I will miss my Uncle Steve. I had lots fun with him and Auntie Gidgie when they would come over for cook outs, when we all would go watch fireworks together on the 4th of July and when we played at the park.

Naturally, words alone cannot express our sympathy on the untimely death of Steve: Husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and Auer Steel co-worker. To say that his time with us was too short is an understatement of the greatest proportions......the reality is he will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him. Although our time together in the Dells was short, Steve was so fun to visit and share stories with--even if it was at your expense. :L) You are no doubt receiving a well-deserved outpouring of sympathy.....hopefully that is reminding you of the type of guy you married. Stay strong, and know that Christy and I are thinking of, and praying for you and your family.........

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have known Jen since college days and was shocked when she told me of Steve's passing. I remember he came to my 30th birthday out at Antlers and was a very nice and sweet guy. Jen always had great things to say about him; I'm sure his humor and gentle heart will be missed. He is with his grandparents now, watching you from above. Just as you won't forget him, I'm sure he won't forget you in heaven. Lots of love!

I am so sorry to hear about Steve! He was one of the sweetest guys at Meadowview! Back in 6th grade we had to dance the jive together for this music class. Where the other guys were awkward and clumsy, Steve was confident and fun; the other guys naturally followed his lead and eventually they all pulled together for a great show! Steve will be missed by many.
