Steven Vento Obituary

Steven P. Vento

Racine - Of Racine, age 72, passed away on December 2, 2020. He was born on December 30, 1947 to parents Sal and Dorothy (nee. May) Vento. Steven proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, serving two tours. Following his military service, he was a police officer with the Milwaukee Police Department for over 30 years. In his spare time he enjoyed being around family, especially during pasta and poker nights. He also enjoyed coffee while playing video games with his grandchildren. During winter, he would look forward to visiting Shawn and his family, in California. He sure hated the winter weather in Wisconsin, but no matter where, his family and friends loved having him around all-year long. Steven will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by loving wife, Magdalena Gregorio-Vento; sons, Tony (Joy), Shawn (Van), Ryan (Maria), and Steven (Ada); grandchildren, Miguel, Devin, Connor, Gino, Ethan, Hope, Elijah, Maddox, Mathias, and Dominic; brothers, Kenneth and David; many other relatives, family and friends. Steven was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis. Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman FH, 620 15th Ave, Union Grove, WI 53182 on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 6:00 pm. Burial with full military honors will take place at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Please meet at the funeral home at 2:30 pm for the procession to the cemetery. www.miller-reesman.com 262-878-2500

Unlike the many faces of Elijah Williams, there has been only 1 Steven P. Vento! His efforts in Milwaukee are as decent and memorable as Fred Bengert and Alphonso Graham. He was a fine worker indeed!

I met Steve through his beautiful wife Magi in French Valley, Winchester, CA in the year 2016. I would see Steve and Mag when they’re in town to visit SoCal. I have witnessed Steve of his happiness and the love he shared with his family both at home in Caledonia and at Shawn and Van’s home in French Valley. I have also seen Steve how he had shown love, understanding and affection to Magi. Steve adores his wife Magi, and his family especially his grand children. I am grateful to have met You Steve, Rest In Peace in paradise
P. S. Magi will always have a round trip ride when she’s in French Valley!

Dear Maggie and family, let me first express my deepest sympathies and condolences. I was shocked and saddened to hear the awful news. I was hoping to speak with you but I have no contact number. Please call me if you would like any time at 262 376 0019 or by Facebook messenger. Stay strong and stay well. I was unable to come to the funeral as I am in the high risk covid group due to age and heart condition. I sincerely apologize for that. Good by to my great friend- a man of courage, honor and valor. Addio amico mio.

Dad, I miss you...I miss you very much. I (we) love you and thank God for you being our Dad. You're our hero, poker buddy, pain in the neck, jovial, stubborn, gracious, patriotic, funny, kind, courageous, finicky, loving best friend and father...you'll be missed at the table during our pasta and poker nights dad... and never forgotten.
Your son, Tony

Maggie and Family: I'm heartbroken that Steve passed away last week. When I talked to him, he was getting stronger and working hard to get better, so he could come home and see all of his grandchildren, sons and family and you for the holidays. I will miss all of our discussions about the world problems and Steve telling me to drive safely to my house and not speed!
