Dear Melissa,Terry and Randy,
We send you our sincerest condolences in your time of grief. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Having known the Kahn family for over 70 years, we had a bond that was immeasurable. Ted's greatest joy was to tell of his children and grandchildren and at the same time showed sincere interest in our family. He will always remain in our hearts as a strong person and a gentle personality.

To the Kahn family:
I'm very sorry to hear about Ted. He was a wonderful guy. I knew him when I was a child in the 1980s; he used to live next to my parents in Fox Point (Marv and Bunny Mandel).
He always had a smile and a joke for me. I will miss him.
Sincerely,
Peter Goodman

MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF TED KAHN WHO I KNEW AS A CUSTOMER OF THE ARMY & NAVY SURPLUS STORE AND LATER AS A POLICE OFFICER PATROLLING HIS RETAIL STORE AREA. AS I RECALL, I WAS FIRST A CUSTOMER, AT THE SMALL STORE NEAR 22ND AND FOND DU LAC NEAR THE OLD A & P STORE AND THEN WHEN HE TOOK OVER THE LARGER WOOLWORTH OR WEIMANN'S FIVE AND DIME, AT 21ST AND FOND DU LAC.
OF COURSE, I ALSO CONSIDERED LUDWIG AND TRUDE, MY FRIENDS AND REMEMBER BEING INVITED TO TEDS HOME ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS. SO MANY YEARS AGO.
I LEFT MILWAUKEE 28 YEARS AGO AND LOST TOUCH WITH TED, BUT I LOVED HIS PERSONALITY. VISITING THE STORE, THERE WAS ALWAYS SOME NEW "CHAKI" THAT I NEEDED AND THERE WERE ALWAYS SO MANY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS TO SEE.
THE PASSING OF TED, AND HIS "SCHTICK", IS AN END TO THAT ERA. TO THINK BACK, I GREW UP ON 17TH AND BROWN, AND THE SEARS STORE AND THE OLD SCHUSTERS AT 12 AND VLIET, WAS THE SHOPPING MECCA'S OF MILWAUKEE'S NORTH SIDE. AGAIN, MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES.
