Victoria Petri Obituary

Petri, Victoria Victoria (Zaza) Petri passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2016. Victoria was born July 7, 1949, in Bucharest, Romania to Mihail and Vera Petri. Victoria was an accomplished pianist who graduated from the Ciprian Porumbescu Conservatory of Music. She was a piano teacher and accompanist who gave a number of recitals and concerts from 1963 to 1980. After coming to the US in 1981, Victoria changed her career path, obtaining a Master's degree in Library and Information Science and a PhD in biochemistry from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following a post-doc at Northwestern University, Victoria joined the Medical College of Wisconsin working with the Rat Genome Database as a research scientist. Victoria will be greatly missed by her colleagues and many friends around the world. A memorial gathering will be held at Hartson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, from 10 AM to 11 AM. Memorial Service 11 AM. Victoria was very generous in her life, giving to many charities for veterans, animals, and women's issues. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of your choice in Victoria's name would be appreciated.
