Puls, Virginia (Nee Lambert) of Madison/Deerfield age 89, gracefully embraced the end of her life on Wed., June 7, 2006 surrounded by her loving grand-daughter, great-granddaughter and the kind caregivers of Golden Hearts in Deerfield, WI. Our dear Nana/Gram was deeply touched and so appreciative by all who lovingly cared for her during her final years that were filled with love, laughter, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. Ginny was born in St Louis, MO, daughter of Elizabeth Rood Claridge on November 29, 1916. She graduated from Shorewood High School in Milwaukee and Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1929 where she was an active and enthusiastic member of the UW Women's Government Association and Delta Gamma sorority. She shared her life with her beloved husband "Bud" C. Morse Puls, a Milwaukee attorney. They married on July 29, 1929. They enjoyed time together at their cottage in Rainbow Lodge, Boulder Junction, WI, and both Ginny and Bud loved golf, tennis, canoeing, all nature and traveling the world. Ginny was a passionate about food, family, and caring for all of "God's creatures". Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Bud in 1979, mother Elizabeth, and brother William Henry Lambert. She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Rentz of Byron, MN, Linda (Donald) Lecher of Catlett, VA, and Nan (William) Barber of Missoula MT; grandchildren Katherine (Craig Kitzman) Johnson, Julie (Daniel) Brown, Jay (Shirley) Lecher, and Todd Lecher; great-grandchildren Jennifer Rohr, Margaret Baumgardt, Madison Lecher, Claudia Lecher, Nicole Lecher, and Emily Brown. Nana loved all animals and will be missed dearly by her sweet "Kanga", her loyal black kitty who was always at her side. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the Dane County Friends of Feral Cats (P.O. Box 1444, Madison, WI 53708; (608) 467-4067, [email protected]) will be appreciated to continue to care for the creatures Nana/Gram so much adored. She will be laid to rest next to her dear husband in a private graveside service for the immediate family on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee, WI. Nana will be dearly missed but her spirit lives eternally within all who love her.

I knew Ginny through AAUW in Menomonee Falls. She was a lovely, vital person and I feel honored to have known her.
