Phyllis,
I regret that I can't be with you today for Walter's funeral because of a school Mass, but please know that my prayers are with you. Walter and you are such wonderful people. Surely he is in the hands of God and will be watching over you from his place in heaven. The Lord's peace be with you.

Wally was the original "Stuffer Duffer" and epitomized the spirit of that group- committed, passionate service to others, while building lasting relationships through laughter, teasing and having lots of fun. Wally was always interested in helping St. Luke's become a better place of help, hope and healing, and beacuse of both of you, it is a better hospital.

He lived life well and leaves an indelible impression on the many lives he touched. (I have a lot of funny memories.) What a model ambassador for St. Luke's Medical Center!

Phyllis, I pray that you will sense God's comforting presence at this time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Phyllis, I am so sorry for your loss. Walter was a wonderful man. I always enjoyed visiting with the two of you at the LP Luncheon's.
