William Hanson Obituary

Hanson, William L. "Tattoo Bill" Although physically Bill is no longer with us, his spirit will remain within the hearts of all those whom he has touched. Bill slipped away from this existence on Friday, September 19, 2008, at the age of 58. Bill co-owned Black Dragon Tattoo. He is survived by his best friend, soul mate and wife, Nancy (nee Connelly). Loving step-father of Brett "Skully" Connelly and Kelly (John) DeCaire. Cherished son of Vera and the late Lester Hanson. Dear brother and motorcycle riding companion of Thomas (Jean), Karen (Michael) Jensen and Suzette. Sweetest "funnest" grandpa to Seamus, Clayton, Draven, Kali, Haakon and Caitlin. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his faithful companion Zena. Military Honors followed by Memorial Service on Sunday, September 28, at 1PM, at the Fish Hatchery, 425 Main St., Delafield. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Bill gave me my first tattoo (pig with rose) on my left shoulder. He made the whole experience painless and made me want to get more, which I did. In fact I have one from each of you. I will treasure them forever.

Nancy,
my deepest condolences go out to you and yours. I have evidence of the talent Bill possessed as a dragon that he was able to fix and finish that I will continue to cherish. The world has lost a wonderful artist as well as all he was to the others in his life. Again, heartfelt condolences ~ Gypsy

Tim and I are going to miss seeing Bill at the Admirals games. Our deepest sympathies to the entire family. I found this online (of course), but think it is worth sharing -Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, love leaves a memory that no one can steal. (From a headstone in Ireland) You are in our thoughts.

Nancy, We're shocked and saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He was one of the most talented tattooists in Wisconsin and perhaps the Midwest, certainly one of the kindest, and we'll all miss him terribly. We hope to see you soon, try to be strong. With love and prayers, Gehrman & Barbara
