I was saddened to hear the news of Bill's passing. I had been thinking of him during my week off, and when I returned to work on Monday I received the news. I really enjoyed caring for Bill during his first visit in January and then again last week. I could see that he was such a special man. It was wonderful getting to know his family as you all came to visit, and I know he appreciated the "sleep-over" time.
Bill and the rest of the Stern family are in my thoughts & prayers.
God Bless,
Danielle, RN (Froedtert Hospital)

Bill & I were classmates at Marquette High School & he was my roommate for 3 years at Marquette University. We learned alot from each other & had fun together during those years. He definitely made an impact on my life & I will always remember our good times together. My deepest sympathy to Bill's family.

I was saddened to hear the news of Bill's death. I have known Bill since the good old days when we had house parties full of MUHS and DSHA kids. Bill and I then both graduated from our respective Universities in Accounting, and were the 2 professional finance hires at Allis-Chalmers the Spring of 1977. I will always remember Bill. My prayers are with him and his family.

Dear Pat and Betty,
We were saddened to learn of your son's death. We remember the good days at St. Jude and his association with our sons, Peter and Stephen. He will be missed.
We are presently in Florida and will be unable to attend the service, but we want you to know that Bill and you will be in our hearts and prayers.

To the Family, Associates and Friends of Bill,
I believe and my prayer is that God will be merciful to you his loved ones in this time of great loss and sorrow. That Bill will rest in peace. That God will have mercy on Bill's soul, that Bill's memory will live long in the hearts of those who knew him and that he will walk with God, both now and for all time to come.

I am a coworker and friend of Bill. I enjoyed his leadership and will miss him very much. He managed his responsabilities and found the time to treat each of us as a individual with a possible special need he could help out with. My life challenges in the last year would have been almost impossible to handle without Bills help. I thanked him when he was with us and my family will always appreciate what he did for us. THANK YOU BILL AND GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL!

I've known Bill since I started dating his friend Mike Herzog 22 years ago. Bill was always the sweetest of gentleman. Right after he'd say something nice he'd come out with a little comment that would always make you laugh. I don't know what that group of friends will do without Bill in the midst. We'd be at a get together and someone would notice that Bill wasn't there yet, next thing you know someone's yelling "Why isn't Bill here, call him on his cell, tell him to get his butt over here!" In this little party called life Bill was one of those you always wanted to know! Mike and I will miss him greatly!

Jim, Maureen and family,
My heart breaks with you on the loss of your brother. I have one brother and realize the importance of that unique bond and the great potential of that relationship. I wish I met Bill but am sure that as a Stern, he was a classy and good person. Please accept the sympathies of Joyce, my girls and me. God bless.

As a long-time colleague and vendor to PSG, I've had the genuine priviledge of working with and getting to know Bill in the past two years. Bill brought my husband to a party at my apartment when we were in our 20's. We all went to grade school together and Bill just brought him along that night and re-introduced us. All 3 of us had gone to the same grade school together. I've been married to my husband for 21 years. I'd say that Bill had a rather significant impact on my life. I'll miss the drinks and conversations Bill and I found so easy to have.

Jim & family -- You are all in our thoughts and prayers. It was always a pleasure to be in Bill's company. He made every trip to the Seldomm a better experience for me. And it was a great pleasure to have him come east this last year.

To everyone that has done business with PSG,
My good friend and President, Bill Stern, passed away Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. There is no way to say how much he will be missed, he was one of the best men I have ever known. PSG may get another president but it is impossible to replace Bill. A better man you will not find, with unfailing good humor and a heart with room for everyone he met. His attitude and his work ethic's were beyond reproach. I will end with a poem that I believe fit Bill.
Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

William Stern was a wonderful hard working man it was my good fortune to know him. I'm sure he was in Heaven, an hour before the devil knew he was dead.

Mr. and Mrs. Stern,
A brief note to say that I greatly enjoyed Bill's company on the few occasions I had the privilege to be with him. I told him a number of times during our recent golf game that I greatly appreciated him carrying me as his teammate. I wish you all the best and note that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Bill was a colleague who worked with me in two companies. His untimely death closes a brilliant career during which he did things right and always did the right thing.
