Albert Dowd Obituary
Albert was the third of five children born to Walter and Mabel Dowd; he attended Juneau Schools and graduated in 1973. He served in the Navy and was honorably discharged. Albert was a friend to everyone he met. Prior to his illness, Albert loved hiking around on Juneau trails with his beloved dog, Kootz. Cope Park, the flume, and Basin Road were among his favorites. He loved panning for gold in his spare time.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Mabel Dowd. He is survived by his parents Gilbert and Gail Lucero, his daughter, Rista Shelley (Aaron), granddaughters, Ava, Aly, Arabella and Aria, his siblings Annmarie Dowd, Glen Dowd (Linda), Norma Unger, Barbara Duncan (Jerry), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was a very private individual requesting to forego a memorial service. He was loved by all. Thank you to SEARHC, Compass and Hospice of Juneau for being there with us till the end. Correspondence can be sent to 3821 Melrose St. Juneau, AK 99801

So sorry to hear of this, condolences to the family. Albert had such a big heart and kind soul. We were lab partners in junior high, dissecting disgusting stinky creatures, but he made it fun. He would do the cutting and I the diagraming, and so we both made it through the class. RIP my friend.

Albert... My heart just hurts to know that I didn't take heed of the passing of time. I so wanted to go back to Alaska and see you, i let life get in the way. My prayer is that we will see each other again in Heaven. Where we will have new bodies and more perfect hearts, I always Loved you but not like you deserved to be loved. Albert
I've thought about you for many years and miss you dearly. We grew up best friends since jr high school. We graduated high school together, joined the Navy together. We were joined at the hip per say for many years.
You will be missed by everyone you knew. Your in the best of hands now. I will see you again my friend.
