David Allison Obituary

David P. Allison, age 87 of Juneau, Alaska passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. David was born September 11, 1930 in Roland, Oklahoma, son of Houston and Gertrude (Romine) Allison. David and Jeanie met in Seaside, California at a church service and the courtship began. They were married on August 30, 1952 in Reno, Nevada and resided in Seaside, California. In 1963 they moved their young family to Juneau, Alaska where they worked together in Allison Construction. David loved the outdoors, working with his hands and moving dirt with his heavy equipment building both residential and commercial properties in Juneau. In 1985 David was the contractor/builder and co-owner of the Juneau Travelodge Hotel in which he was very much involved in the successful operation of the business. David loved the ocean and there were years of numerous fishing trips in Juneau on their boat the "Jeanie A" in which they hosted many adventures for family and friends.

David is survived by his daughters Lynda (Lee) Foreman of Juneau, Alaska; Sher (Byron) Perkins of Anchorage, Alaska; Grandchildren: David Allison; Alison (Dan) Foreman-Greever; Jerry (Heidi) Allison; Jacquilene (Ron) Foreman-Hamilton; Christopher (Maria) Perkins; Julie (Andy) Allison-Billings; Lindsay (Joseph) Foreman-Hosey; Justin (Tiana) Perkins; Aubrey (Andrew) Perkins-Arbaugh; Great Grandchildren: Danielle, Ivy, Randy, Franklin, Tristan, Coleton, Jacob, Olivia, Martha, Katherine, Lily, Julianna, John David and Serenity. Brother Carl (Mary) Allison; sister Leona (Bob) Anderson. David is preceded in death by his wife Jeanie Allison; son Randal Allison; parents Houston and Gertrude Allison, sister Opal Benoit and brother Melvin Allison.
David was laid to rest on October 24, 2017 at Dora Cemetery, Dora, Arkansas.
You are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 18th at 3 p.m. at the Juneau Travelodge Hotel.

We'll always remember him tinkering around either moving snow, washing off the driveway or moving something with his construction equipment. He was always busy doing something and always had a smile and a wave when he saw us. Wish we had known about the celebration of life for him. RIP, David, bet you're busy being an angel now.
