Uncle Alex and family. I want to express my sympathy in the great loss of such a beautiful woman. Aunt Lupe was such a kind person to me. When we would all go over to visit when you lived in Oxnard she never told us to be quite or stop running around. She had the pretties smile. She loved my mother and my mother loved her as a sister. She will be greatly missed. My brother Marcy was telling us the other day how Uncle Alex would go down to Mexicali to visit her as they were dating and he would take Marcy with him and how excited Uncle Alex was to see her. Everytime I saw my Uncle and Aunt together in their later years they both looked excited to be together. May God bless you Uncle Alex and Family.

To the DURAN Familia,
My heart aches in the loss of such a BEAUTIFUL Strong woman... I want to share something with you that reminds me of your Mother and that I have tried to go by for many years.

A STRONG WOMAN Versus a WOMAN of STRENGTH:

A Strong Woman works out everyday to keep her body in shape...but a Woman of Strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.
A Strong Woman isn't afraid of anything ... but a Woman of Strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.
A Strong Woman won't let anyone get the best of her... but a Woman of Strength gives the best of her to everyone.
A Strong Woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future... but a Woman of Strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.
A Strong Woman wears the look of confidence on her face .... but a Woman of Strength wears grace.
A Strong Woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey.... but A Woman of Strength has faith that it is in the journey the she will become strong.

Thank you for sharing your Mother with me!
She will be missed... Do not grieve too long but celebrate her in your daily lives. Her BEAUTIFUL smile you should find comfort in .. The Sun rises everyday and that warmth you feel that touches your skin is her hugs daily.. and when the moon shines at night its her kisses to bid you goodnight!!
You are all in my prayers and know that there are no words of wisdom but that You are all in Our prayers.
Know that you have not said GOOD-BYE but "A HUI HOU" Until we meet again.
God Bless you Love and Aloha,
Lui & Mona Fenumia'i and Ohana

To me she was "Mama Lupe" who watched over me while I lived as a renter at the house with my two little Pomeranian's. At that time I was lucky to find a place that allowed dogs much less two of them. I loved living in the house - cross country skiing out the back door, the big black bear that came to my door to smell my pinto beans, papa in his office on the bottom floor with a big smile as I passed by to do a load of laundry and Lupe always kind and warm, surrounded by her family especially on the weekends when the upper parking lot would fill with cars. I moved out of Juneau several years ago and just several days ago I was thinking about Mama Lupe and how the family was. I am sorry that I never got to tell her how special she was and how much I appreciated her even now. She must have visited me in spirit that day. I did call papa and Tanya. To the rest of the family I just wanted you to know how lucky you all are to have such great parents. Even tho I was just a renter, I was touched by how close and loving you all were and are. Take care of each other and especially papa because it's a big house. Mama Lupe suffers no more and left this place knowing that she has gone to a better place and awaits only her family. Give Papa a hug for me.

Ness, Toni and Elias, I know God has welcomed her home after her short earthly stay to His mansions where he has many rooms for all. May you and the rest of the family be comforted knowing she is happy, pain free and enjoying the love of those who have gone before her. Many hugs.....
