September 5, 2018

To the Hatch family, I am sorry for your loss. Mike was a tremendous amount of help to me and my family. I first met Mike in 1998 when he helped me out with my first car. He didn't have to help me but vouched for me and promised if I made my payments on time I could come back and get my dream car which was my first red Jeep. Through the years he helped my children and friends, he was a great man with a kind heart.

Every time I stopped by the shop, his playful banter and distinct chuckle, made stopping by a pleasure and put a grin on my face. He took a lot of my money. But, I always got my money's worth. Thank you Mike for all the Hand Shake Deals and good conversations. A part of Juneau is lost.

My condolences to his wonderful family.

Mike's love for life and the people he came to know and love gave him much pleasure and for that all can be eternally grateful. I am sorry for your loss of him. Matthew 5:7 seemed to embrace a generous description of his view in life so may you strengthen feeble hands with love. Hebrews 12:12-14.

My sincerest condolences to Mike's family. I worked with Mike at DEC in the early 1970s. Later we would stop by his business to check out all the Jeeps and visit with Mike. We would end up talking about many things - including Tenakee. Mike had a great sense of humor. He was also a great storyteller. RIP Mike. You always took the time to say hi. Your kindness will be missed.

Can't think on how to express my feelings. You were a BIG part of our lives..starting with getting to know you through cousin Chuck. Enjoyed bringing the cars over and getting new ones, just driving by, stopping in to chat, and hearing the stories of your first 'cruise' and how you didn't think you were going to like it..then went back for more cruises --again and again .... Loved coming in to see Baxter, as did all your customers. You have a great family who will help each other, and your long list of your family of friends, during this hard time. Thank you for being part of our lives. Chris and Karen Cummins
