Roy Gould Obituary

It is with the deepest sadness that the family of Roy Alan Gould announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at his home in Peoria, Arizona, with family and other loved ones surrounding him after a sudden decline in health.

Roy was born in Juneau, Alaska, on May 14, 1960, to parents Jack and Anne (Pusich) Gould. He graduated from Juneau Douglas High School and later attended Western State College in Colorado and Central Washington University. He returned to Juneau and managed Juneau Dairies and later became a supervisor at Alaska Marine Trucking where he worked for over two decades. He was a natural at skiing and was a proud member of the Juneau Bombers. He also enjoyed playing baseball starting at an early age and as an adult travelled throughout Southeast Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, to participate in softball tournaments. Over the last 10 years, Roy owned and operated Chilkoot Charters & Tours with his wife, Stacy, in Skagway, Alaska. He was an avid and fierce, lifelong Seattle Seahawks and Mariners fan who enjoyed hosting football playoff and super bowl parties with close friends and family. He also spent many priceless and joyous years hunting in Freshwater Bay and Fool's Inlet where he shot his first buck. Many of his vacations were spent in Arizona visiting and playing golf with his mother, Anne, where he later relocated for the winters. He had a deep love for his family, especially his twin sons.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Stacy, sons, Christian and Kyle, step children, Breanna and Connor Rowan, sister, Janna Marshall (Jon), brother, Steve Gould (Massie), mother-in-law and father-in-law, Larry and Kathy Pierce and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be hosted on February 19, 2022, at 4:00PM at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, 320 West Willoughby Ave, Juneau, Alaska. Roy was a gentle and loving person and will be forever missed by those that he touched.

The characteristic about Roy that I will always remember is what an unchallenging task it was to get him to laugh. He was definitely one of the good guys. May he rest in peace.
