Susan Marie Ellsworth Warren

Susan Ellsworth Warren "flew west' on January 9, 2024 in the comfort of her home in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 74. Susan joins her husband, Larry Warren, the love of her life.

Susan was born in Seattle, Washington August 9, 1949 and moved with her parents shortly after to Juneau, Alaska where she graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1967.

Susan loved growing up in Juneau, with fond memories of helping her dad build their log home at Auke Lake, fishing, berry picking and making many friends.

Susan always had a smile for everyone and had the gift of remembering the name of all she met. Susan was the ultimate hostess who loved food and loved people.

While growing up Susan would often talk of her desire to travel, especially to Africa. At the age of 18 she became a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines and later for TWA. She travelled the world, visiting Africa many times and volunteering in a clinic in Uganda.

After many years of flying Susan went to nursing school and became a transplant nurse specialist and coordinator and later a hospice nurse. Her ready smile and kind nature was a blessing to all those she served, whether in the air or the bedside of a patient. Susan sparkled and now there is a new star in heaven.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Pat Ellsworth, and her husband, Larry Warren.
Susan is survived by her brothers, John Ellsworth (Jan) of Anchorage; Robert Ellsworth of Juneau; and sisters, Anne Gibson (Tim) of Payson, Utah and Jill Ellsworth of Phoenix, Arizona.
