Daniel Ledet Obituary

Daniel A. "Red" Ledet, a native of Pointe-Aux-Chenes and resident of Chauvin, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 81. Daniel graduated from St. Joseph Benedictine High School in 1962. He spent the next 5 years working on tugboats for LeBeouf Brothers Towing before beginning his career with Texaco. Over the next 35 years his work and dedication were unsurpassed, filling many roles working on boats and barges before transitioning to the office as a marine transportation specialist. Daniel often spoke of the enjoyment he had working on the M/V: M.E. Trahan, a rig pulling tugboat that was a Phenom in the oil industry. On June 12, 1965, Daniel married the love of his life Myra and together were blessed with three children and numerous grandchildren. He was a special person who loved all his children and grandchildren equally. Daniel instilled a strong work ethic in his children as well as shared his love for the outdoors and passion for hunting. He was an avid deer hunter and loved spending time with family at his camp in Mississippi, especially during the holidays. Red was a "Legend" in the deer hunting world. He will forever be remembered as a fair and generous man. Rest in peace, your work here on Earth is done! We will love you always!! He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myra P. Ledet; children, Randy J. Ledet (Jenny), Mitsy L. Dupre (David) and Danny J. Ledet Sr. (Jackie); grandchildren, Jordy M. Ledet, Rikki L. Fangue (Jacob), Brooke F.
