Doris Daigneault Obituary

Doris "Dot" Arcement Daigneault, 97, a native of Bowie (Gheens) and a resident of Houma, reunited with her husband in Heaven on Friday, September 12, 2025. She is survived by her children, David Daigneault (Christine), Danielle Moore, Walter "Tootie" Daigneault (Belle), Elizabeth "Liz" Cooper (Patrick), and Remy Daigneault (Penny); grandchildren, Benjamin Daigneault (Dorian), Allison Swayze (Robby), Sarah Lyons (Neil), Heather Daigneault, Paige Daigneault, Lauren Cooper (fiancé Max Wolfe), Laura Zeringue (Andrew), Lacie Foreman (John), Stephen Daigneault (Valerie), Katherine Moore, Jessica Humphreys (Brad), and Elizabeth Burnett; Twenty-one great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 75 years, Herc Daigneault; granddaughter, Caroline Cooper; parents, Furcy and Sarah Champagne Arcement; brothers, Murray, Howard, Morgan "Pip", and Andrew Arcement; sisters, Clara Pasqua, Bella Pitre, Della Blanchard, and Sarah Legendre; and son-in-law, Raymond Moore. Dot was a loving, strong, faith-filled woman who adored her family. She was the "glue" that held it all together. Her 75 year marriage to Herc was a true testament and commitment of "til death do us part", since her passing was 48 hours upon his death. Some of the things she enjoyed most was spending time with family, cooking, playing cards, gardening, puzzles, and reading. Dot's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her eyes, looking forward to their visits. She was devoted to her daily prayers. Her stories and experiences helped build her family's foundation for life. Dot will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and many friends, but her family has comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her husband, Herc. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral from 8:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Francis de Sales Cathedral or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes during this time. Online condolences can be given at www.samartfuneralhome.com. Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park is in charge of arrangements.
