Herc was a man of faith that was devoted to his family. He was married to Dot for 75 years, lovingly nurturing their family together. Dot's passing occurred 48 hours upon his death. Their vows and commitment to each other was a true testament of "til death do us part". As a proud Army veteran, he served in WWII and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, honorary WWII museum member, and Knights of Columbus Council 1317 for 78 years. Herc was a founding member of the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) softball league, Houma Babe Ruth Organization, and Houma's first American Legion baseball team. He received the Eugene J. Folse Veterans Memorial Award in 2017. His compassion was shown to many during his 40 year banking career. All who knew him were fortunate to hear many of his life stories that he loved to share. Herc will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and many friends, but his family has comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his wife, Dot.
