Jimmy Ray Rogers

Jimmy Ray Rogers, 80, a native and resident of Bayou Blue, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marilyn Bunch Rogers; daughter, Kelly DeHart and husband Jake; grandchildren, Taylor DeHart and boyfriend Nathan Bergeron, Addison DeHart, and Shelby DeHart; great-grandchildren, Harper Bergeron and Myles Bergeron on the way; sisters, Judy Authement and late husband Alton, Cheryl Henry and husband Harvey, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Alice Browning and late husband Bob, Linda Sherer and husband Ronald; brother-in-law, Richard Bunch, Jr. and wife Dollie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.J. and Ollie Matherne Rogers; sister, Dianne Labit and husband Ralph; sisters-in-law, Catherine Dufrene and husband Coral, Betty Comardelle and husband Gary; in-laws, Richard, Sr. and Irene Hoffpauir Bunch; nephew, John Labit; and niece, Rhonda Dufrene. Jimmy will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and dear friend. He enjoyed working at DOW Chemical for 40 years, 2 months, and 14 days. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding his 4-Wheeler with his granddaughters, and spending time with family and friends. Jimmy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Houma First United Methodist Church on Highway 311 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Houma First United Methodist Church from 9:00 am until his Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery in Bayou Blue. The family would like to thank the staff at Terrebonne General and the staff at The Oaks of Houma for their excellent care and compassion.
