John Terry Parfait

John Terry Parfait, a native of Dulac and a resident of Houma, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 62. John was known as "Terry", "Tae", "Terry T", and "Psycho". John was born on January 11, 1963 to the late Paul "Boy" Oris Parfait and Josephine "Sis" Florence Parfait. He is survived by his children, Sara Laughlin, Justin Laughlin, Amy Laughlin, Emily Foret, Rene Laughlin, Trevor Thibodeaux, Tara White, and Blake Stokes; grandchildren, Joyce Laughlin, Sasha Chaisson, Layla Laughlin, Lexi Laughlin, Dylan Laughlin, Sierra Chaisson, Kenzie Fanguy, Sophie Morales, Walter Foret, Jerry Beauvais, Madog Thibodeaux, and Ares Thibodeaux; siblings, Mary Freeman, Terrell Parfait, and Pauline Laughlin; the love of his life, Tracy Laughlin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlene and Helen Parfait; brothers, Tony and Bradley Parfait; and many extended family members and friends. Being raised in Dulac, Terry found peace in the outdoors and was always found in the water trawling, fishing, and crabbing in his signature white shrimp boots. He also enjoyed drawing, which was inspired by his passion for the great outdoors. Terry never met a stranger and he took pride in being able to help as many people as possible in whatever way he possibly can and wouldn't expect anything in return. Most of all, Terry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm, with a memorial service to begin at 6:30 pm.
