Merry Rodrigue

Merry Dell Rodrigue (Chellette) passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, selflessness, and quiet strength.
Merry Dell was a woman whose life was defined not by what she took from the world, but by what she gave to it. She cared deeply and loved fiercely. She made sure everyone around her was okay - fed, comforted, supported, and seen. Her instinct was always to put others first, and she did so with joy and grace.
a visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday January 20th, 2026 at Samart Funeral Home Of Houma LLC Bayou Blue, from 9:00am until funeral services starting at 11:00am. A burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Houma.
She was the proud mother of three sons, and though she endured the heartbreaking loss of each of them - Patrick Rodrigue Jr., Cody Rodrigue, and Westley Rodrigue - she never stopped being their mother. She honored them through her love, her stories, and the way she continued to care for others as they would have been proud of.
Her strength was not loud, but it was steady. Her love was not conditional, but constant. And her kindness reached farther than she ever knew.
She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Rodrigue; her cherished granddaughter, Paige Sevin (husband Tray Sevin); her great-grandchildren, Grayson Sevin and Stella Sevin; and her grandson, Caleb Rodrigue.
She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Bonvillan; Gilbert Chellette (wife Gina); and Marie Hebert (husband Jerry); along with her nieces, Dominique Bonvillan, Stephanie Autin, Gayla Day, and Misty Lennon; and her nephews, Donny Bonvillan, Jody Chellette, Derek Chellette, John Day, Ray Garlin, Mike Rodrigue, Howard Rodrigue Jr., Ryan Rodrigue, Brant Rodrigue, Corey Rodrigue, Ethan Rodrigue, and Chad Detiveaux; as well as many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Patrick Rodrigue Jr., Cody Rodrigue, and Westley Rodrigue; her parents, Ray Chellette and Joy Dubois; and her brother, Anthony Chellette.
She is now reunited in heaven with her three boys, her greatest joy, and is finally at peace in their loving embrace
