Oscar Antoine "Tony" Rivette Jr.

Oscar "Tony" Antoine Rivette Jr., 78, born August 10, 1946 a native of Kenner, Louisiana and resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Rivette "Hed" and wife, Melody; and two grandchildren, Ava Rivette and Damien Schuetter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ada Rivette; parents, Oscar Rivette Sr. and Louella Rivette; three siblings, Jeanne LeBlanc "Ree", Llewellyn Rivette "Lew" and Theresa Douglas "Tee". Tony was a native of Orleans and Jefferson Parish. He graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1965. His family then moved to Houma. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and did two combat tours in South Vietnam in the Mekong River Delta Riverine Force. He was a Decorated River Patrol Boat Captain who received a Bronze Star with combat "V" for Valor and a Purple Heart. Tony was honorably discharged from the Navy and joined the Houma Police Department in 1970. He retired with the rank of Capitain in 1993 after 23 years of service. He then became a Terrebonne Parish Deputy Marshall, retired as Sergeant, and then retired a second time as Chief Deputy. There will be no services at this time, per his request.
