Church Point, LA: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mr. Roland Anthony Richard, 93, who passed away at 2:19 AM Wednesday, October 1 at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the Funeral Services with Burial following in Arceneaux Cemetery outside of Rayne, LA. Roland Anthony Richard, the son of the late Sidney Richard and the former Bernadette Leger, was a devoted Army veteran, who passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. A man of many passions, Roland found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was cooking up a delicious fish dish that he had caught, patiently waiting in a hunting blind, tending to his garden, or enjoying the thrill of the casino, Roland approached each activity with enthusiasm and a warm heart. His commitment to his country and his zest for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by three sons, Tony Richard, Easton Richard and Donald Richard; his loving companion, Clothilde Stelly; his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren and one sister, Mary Jane Cordova. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Richard and three daughters, Rhonda, Linda and Debra. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
