Guillermo Udarbe Obituary
He resided in Philadelphia for 12 years and Ridgway for 40 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where he was a Trustee, he was the Mayor of Ridgway for 12 years, past Chief of Residence Family Practice in Northeastern Hospital in Philadelphia, a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Borough Mayors, the Pennsylvania Mayor Association, the Ridgway Chamber of Commerce, the Ridgway Rotary Club, the Ridgway Ambulance Board, and the Ridgway Heritage Council. He was a graduate of Dugo Cagayan, Philippines High School and Manila Central University, Philippines. He served his residency at Northeastern Hospital in Philadelphia and Temple University. He had been employed as a Family Practice Physician for 52 years, first in Ridgway being self-employed and then later by UPMC Kane Community Hospital.
Dr. Udarbe was proud to be a member of the Ridgway Community. He was a much loved family physician in town, as Mayor he enjoyed leading the annual Firemen's Parade, he planted trees in downtown Ridgway to beautify the town, and took on many more projects too numerous to mention to improve Ridgway. Aside from loving the Ridgway Community, Dr. Udarbe loved his wife Gloria, two daughters Cherry Pie and Charina, and his five grandchildren Isabella, Clarissa, Nathaniel, Olivia, and Andre. His family were his true jewels.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Aragones Udarbe of Ridgway, 2 daughters Cherry Pie Udarbe (Bruce) Clark of Fairview, PA and Charina Udarbe (John) Felix of Lutherville, MD, 5 grandchildren Isabella Udarbe Felix, Clarissa Udarbe Felix, Nathaniel Udarbe Clark, Olivia Udarbe Felix, and Andre Markus Felix, 1 sister Mila Udarbe (Danilo) Campos of Guelph, Canada, 1 niece and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents Carlos and Maria Udarbe, and his maternal grandmother Maria Genobebe.
Funeral Services for Dr. Guillermo Genobebe Udarbe will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Williams, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1-4 and 5-8 PM. So sorry for your loss . Dr. Udarbe took wonderful care of us since 1987. Dr. Udarbe always remembered your name outside of the office and would make a point to chat, he truly cared and never rushed you in and out of the office. If there were issues he always took his time, we will always be grateful.
