Andrew Martin Obituary

Andrew Martin

August 19, 1988 - June 21, 2024

Andover, Kansas - Andrew Michael Martin was born in Wichita, KS on August 19, 1988 to Tim and Rhonda (Oathout) Martin. He passed away in a tragic construction site accident on June 21, 2024 at the age of 35. Andrew graduated from Andover High School in 2007 where he played football and was on the wrestling team and also enjoyed doing ceramics and pottery.

He is survived by his parents Tim and Rhonda (Oathout) Martin, brother Justin (Marta) and his nephew, Noah.

Andrew loved his dogs and they will miss him. Cooper, his 9-year-old Doberman, is going to live with Andrew's aunt Tammy and uncle Steve on their ranch and will be well loved and cared for. Chance, his new puppy, is going to travel back to Pennsylvania with his younger brother Justin, and his wife Marta. However, this is a big and unexpected expense for Justin and Marta. For those who would like to contribute, a memorial account has been established to help with travel expenses and the ongoing care of Chance. Donations may be made via Venmo to @Michelle-White-3 (please put Andrew Martin in the memo) or a check made out to Michelle White (Andrew Martin in memo) can be sent to Shaeffer Mortuary, 6 N. Main, Caldwell, KS 67022. A donation to your favorite animal shelter is also an option should you choose.

Following cremation, services will be held at a later date.

I had Andrew as a student at AHS. He was one of my favorite students from over the years (I've had thousands). I definitely don't remember all of them, but Andrew was kind, polite, and always energetic and moving. My heart breaks with this news, but that young man probably touched more lives in his lifetime than others who live to be 90. I also lost a son. Just remember him, speak of him, and know that the Lord is nearest the broken hearted.

I was shocked and sorry to hear of Andrew´s passing. As a high school classmate, football team mate, and wrestling team mate, he was a competitor you wouldn´t have expected. He was always laughing and cracking jokes and was a fun guy to be around on long weekends stuck in gyms around the state or wrestling camps we attended. My condolences to his family and friends.

Andrew was a generous kind and giving soul. His sense of humor and love for Joy and fun, which he brought to those around him in boat loads, will be missed greatly. God bless his family. May he be remembered for the joy he brought so many
