Arlo Eichbauer Obituary

Arlo Whitman Eichbauer

January 18, 2006 - June 11, 2025

Wichita, Kansas - Arlo Whitman Eichbauer died Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in a car accident outside Leon, Kansas, that also killed his father and cousin. He was only 19.

Arlo was born January 18, 2006, in Wichita, Kansas, the youngest child of Heather Hansen and Eliot Britton Eichbauer. He grew up adored by his big sister, Celia, and his big brother, Finnegan.

Arlo was an avid reader of literature and history. As a child, he loved Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and other stories of magic and heroism. In young adulthood, he was well read in Egyptian archaeology and current events; his political opinions were a mystery to no one within earshot. Most recently, he loved to share stories about his exploits as a diver. He dreamed of studying archaeology in college, but for now he was enjoying the leisure of youth.

Arlo attended Riverside Elementary School and Coleman Middle School, and he graduated in 2024 from Goddard High School. He loved dogs and underdogs. He gave great hugs and had a twinkle in his eye that we will miss for the rest of our lives.

Arlo is survived by his mother, Heather Hansen, and step-father, James Wright; siblings, Celia and Finnegan Eichbauer; step-siblings Nathalie and Eric Wright; grandparents Pat and Tom Hansen, Mary and Stephen Kitchen, and Jackie Allred; aunt Meggan Hansen and uncle Brad Ebberts; aunt Jessica Eichbauer-Welsh and uncle Cole Welsh; aunt Tara Peña and uncle Matt Peña; uncle Toby Parcell, and so many loving cousins and other family. He also leaves his dogs Ben, Juniper, and Susie to mourn the loss of his snuggles and baby talk. Arlo was accompanied in death by his father, Eliot Britton Eichbauer, and his cousin, Silas Eichbauer. He was preceded in death by his uncle Brad Hunter.

A memorial service to remember the lives of Arlo and those who died with him will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Central Community Church, 6100 W. Maple.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Kansas Humane Society in Arlo's name. Even better, please take a little extra time to play with your dog or other furry loved one. Arlo loved dogs, and we loved him.

My Condolences to the family. I knew Arlo grandfather Bruce Eichbauer and Dad Britton. With these genes he had to be a hoot. Rest in Love!
