To Elaine (Cummins) Duncan and Family:
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom about five years ago, so I can relate to what you are going through. I didn't really get to know your dad, but I do remember the time he pulled my car out of the ditch in front of your house late one night. We had passed your drive,so we were backing up and you wanted to steer. We wound up in the ditch - you laughing and me horrorfied at the prospects of having to get Bernard out of bed to get the Minneapolis Moline out to rescue my car. I know you will find comfort in the coming days and weeks with your memories of your dad. Again, my wife Kathy and I send our condolences.

TO BERNARD'S FAMILY
WHAT A JOY TO CALL HIM MY FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR. HE IS EVERYTHING ONE COULD WANT IN A NEIGHBOR.
I GUESS I SHOULD CALL HIM MY MILK MAN TOO BECAUSE WHENEVER I WOULD RUN OUT HE WOULD LOAN ME A GALLON UNTIL I COULD REPAY HIM. HE ALWAYS ENJOYED MY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES I WOULD BRING HIM. HA
HE WAS SO GOOD TO MY KIDS AND WAS ALWAYS INTERESTED IN THEM. JUSTIN HAD FUN VISITING WITH HIM THIS SUMMER AFTER HE WOULD MOW THE YARD. BERNARD WAS FUN AND EASY TO TALK WITH. HE LOVED HIS KIDS AND GRANDKIDS AND WIFE. OFTEN HE WOULD SHARE THINGS FROM HIS GARDEN WITH ME. ONE OF MY MOST VIVID MEMEORIES WAS WHEN THEY LET ME WATCH THEM GET THE CHICKENS READY FOR DRESSING. THEY WERE A TRUE FARM FAMILY. WE WERE NEIGHBORS FOR ALMOST 27 YEARS AND I ALWAYS ENJOYED MY VISITS WITH HIM. I LOVED HIS LAUGH. WE WILL ALL MISS THAT TWINKLE IN HIS EYE. THANKS FOR SHARING HIM WITH US.
