Candace Knight Hawkins

Hawkins, Candace Knight, 46, of Wichita, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Wesley Hospital following a long illness. Visitation with the family 7:00 ~ 9:00 P.M., Thursday, October 25 and service 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 26, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, in the family lot at the Larned City Cemetery, Larned, KS. It was a happy and joyous day on February 14, 1961 when Candy was born at Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of the late Reverend Harold H. Knight, Jr. and Janice Booe Knight of Joplin, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Darrel Hawkins of Wichita. They were married on February 14, 1985. To this union two children were born, Shavanne Renae (deceased) and Erica Brynn Michelle Hawkins of Wichita. She also is survived by her mother, Janice Knight of Joplin, Mo, brothers, Harold H. (Rusty) Knight, III of Joplin, MO and Rick R. Knight of Baltimore, MD; niece, Lindsey Knight of Carl Junction, MO; nephews, Josh Hopkins and Ryan Knight, both of Wichita; several cousins, aunts, uncles and a large host of friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shavanne Renae, her father, Reverend Harold H. Knight, Jr. on February 12, 2007 and an infant sister, Sandra Lee Knight.
