Charles Blackmon Obituary

Blackmon, Charles V. 64, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 after battling cancer. Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the First Unitarian Church Meeting House (south entrance), 1501 N. Fairmount. Born Nov. 22, 1942 in Enid Okla., Chuck grew up in Wichita, Kan. He was proceded in death by father George Blackmon Sr., his mother and step-father, Phyrne and Elvin Denning, and brother George Blackmon, Jr. all of Wichita. He is survived by his wife, Ileana of the home; son, Scott Blackmon (Sara); daughter, Lori Coleman (Craig), all of Wichita; brother Jim Blackmon (Mimi) of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; sisters, Marjorie Blackmon of California; Faye (Clyde) Moelling of Wichita; Jean Fisher (Bob) of Overland Park, Kan.; Judy Simmons (Joey) of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and Phyllis McKinzie, Rochester, NY; cousin, Diane Adamson of Wichita; three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and very many close friends. Chuck will be cremated and his ashes released in a stream near Solingalpa, Nicaragua. Memorials may be sent to either the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
