Chris KUCZAJ Obituary
Chris Kuczaj (Krzysztof) passed away gently at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Peter Lougheed Hospital. He was with his wife Kathy at the time and shortly after with son Thomas, and brother Thomasz. Chris was suffering with stage 4 lung cancer which finally took his life. He was 68. Born in Poland, immigrated to Canada in 1971 where he began his new life. He loved Chess, mathematics and was an Electrical Engineer by trade and a member of APEGA. In the last part of his life he became somewhat secluded and lived a quiet life. He will be loved and remembered by Kathy (wife), Thomas (son), Margaret (daughter), Aniela (mother), Thomasz (brother), family members, and his many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Jacek and his father Jan. Prayers and viewing of memories will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 1708 - 16 Avenue N.W. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. All who knew are welcome to pay respects. Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Church, 2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W. on Saturday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m.

Thanks for all the great games and insightful postmortems at the chess club, Chris. I learned a lot from them. You were a huge part of our club's history, and will be missed.

Hey Dad, you are free now. Hopefully happy and living the life you want without restriction or suffering. You fought hard and quietly. I'll miss the good times. Thanks for all the times you were kind and generous...I'll never forget. Love ya. Tom.
