Wichita, Kansas - Christopher S. Shank, 78, Senior Commercial Insurance Executive, died February 5, 2026.

Wake at 6 p.m., and Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Friday February 13, 2026; Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by his father, Gerald E. Shank; mother; Vera Darling Larson; and step-father, Olaus W. Larson; step-daughter, Maria A. Anderson.

Survived by his wife, Anna R. Anderson of Wichita; son, George W. Anderson of Oakland, CA; grandson, Heston Moore; brother, Michael H. Shank; niece, Michelle M. Shank; sisters-in-law, Georgia Clements, Lucy Collins, Margaret Ansari and Mary Esparza who consider Chris to the be the brother they never had and their children with special mention to Jessica Esparza who has blessedly been caring for Chris and Anna for the past year.

Memorials have been established with: Heartspring, 8700 E. 29th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226; Big Brothers Big Sisters, PO Box 1521, Wichita, KS 67201; Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 124 N. Roosevelt, Wichita, KS 67208.

I'm so very sorry to learn about Chris' passing. It will be a huge loss for Wichita; he and Anna were quite philanthropic. Chris' love for cats was epic and they, too, will mourn his loss. Anna, my dear friend, I am so sorry.

I had many positive interactions with Chris during my many years of employment at Heartspring. He was always so helpful, energetic and just great to be around. Pretty shocked to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and friends.

I did business with Chris and went on golf trips with him. Always teed off with a five iron. Amazing. Hit it pretty good! Chris was a very good man. Made serious contributions to community, family and friends. Always positive. I'll miss him.

I have many memories over the years. From playing Racketball at lunchtime to watching Chris provide insurance services to his and his firm´s clients. I appreciate the help and assistance that has given me. His obituary doesn´t mention what Chris gave back to Wichita Community, and Wichita´s nonprofit agencies in time and financial support. In my opinion, Chris was a Special Person in this regard. He will be missed by many. My condolences to Anna and Chris´ family.
