So sorry to hear about Doc Thompson! I met Doc when my mom owned the Dyne Quik Restaurant many years ago. I never knew he had a real name til now - he has always been called "Doc Thompson". I know he will be greatly missed by many.

Dr. Thompson was our family physician for many years. He was kind, patient and caring. I can remember him making house calls with his stethoscope around his neck, his little black bag in hand and sometimes Martha at his side. He really was a blessing to our family and our "North End" neighborhood. May his family find peace and comfort in the knowledge that he helped so many people.

Dr. Thompson was our family doctor. He was more than just our "doctor" he was a good friend. He delivered both my brother (Tom) and myself. My parents tried for 16 years to have children. I can remember my mother telling me how Dr. Thompson just kept telling them to have faith and to pray. I was born in 1959 and my brother in 1960. My father and mother (Francis and Jean Kirby), thought the world of him. What a great man and great doctor. He will surely be missed.

Dr Thompson was my doctor for almost 20 years and doctored my family too. He helped me thru many rough patches. Martha was always by his side at the office and could give the best injection in town. My thoughts and prayers are with you his family now. God bring you peace and comfort as you go thru this time of sorrow. He had a servents hearts and be comforted in the knowledge that his gift was from God and he was used by Him.

I first met Dr. Thompson in 1953. However, I don't remember it. He delivered me. Two years later he delivered my brother. As a matter of fact, my brother was taking his time and he told my Mom they needed to hurry up because Mrs. Thompson had supper ready and he'd be in trouble if they took much longer. He was born at 7:20 in the PM.
I remember how he always had his stethoscope hanging around his neck. And, I was intrigued by his fountain pen. I didn't like the shots though! I ran out of the office once too.
He was our family doctor. He saw us through many, many things. My Dad referred to him as Doc Thompson.
I even remember when he made a house call. My Aunt had passed away and he came to give my Mom and Grandmother a shot to calm them. My brother and I watched from under the bed. That was after he asked us if we wanted wanted one too.
So thanks Thompson family for sharing him. He helped many of us in the "North End". God Be With You All.
