David Adams Obituary

David L. Adams

January 13, 1950 - March 27, 2024

Andover, Kansas - David Lee Adams, age 74, of Andover, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. David was born January 13, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas to Lorene Mable Moore Sailing and Lockwood Kaiser Adams. Dave's passion for helping people led him to a career of over 50 years in accounting and the opening of his own business, David L. Adams & Associates. He was passionate about his job and worked long nights to help his clients. Dave was more than an accountant, he was a mentor, friend, and confidant. Dave was not only a man of many abilities but known by many names. He was known as "The Master of Disaster," "Main Man," "Dr. Doom," "Chief Man," the "Macaroni Connoisseur," and most importantly "Kaw Kaw," to his grandkids. Another love of Dave's was the Kansas City Chiefs. Dave has been a devoted Chief fan his entire life. His favorite past times were spent at Chiefs games with his mom as a boy. That tradition continued on with his son Kaden, grandson Tanner, and son-in-law George. They have many memories and stories about their times spent at the games. Above all, Dave's greatest love was for his wife, children, and grandchildren who he loved unconditionally and made his number one priority. Dave is survived by his wife, Janet Adams; children Stephanie Bowen (Bill), Ashley Adams, and Lindsay Pierce (Chris), Kaden Adams, and Tammy Thrash (George); grandchildren Alexus Bowen, Alaina Bowen, Jack Pierce, Julia Pierce, Clara Pierce, and Livian Adams, Bethany Thrash, and Tanner Thrash (Tristin); and great grandchildren Gannon, Emalee, and Jelly Bean. Dave was preceded in death by his father Lockwood Kaiser Adams; mother Lorene Mable Moore Sailing; and sisters Beverly Adams and sister Barbara Thomas.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13Th St N, Wichita, Kansas 67206. A Celebration of Life service will occur Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Olivet Baptist Church, 3440 W 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67203.

Janet & family - so sorry for your loss. I have known Dave for over 50 years and considered him not only my accountant, but also a good friend. Still hard for me to believe that he has passed away. I love all the family pictures posted and whenever I was talking or with Dave, he always loved talking about his family. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time. May all the wonderful memories bring you peace in the days ahead. He will be greatly missed.

Dave was such a nice man. He helped me during a rough time in my life. He did it with kindness and compassion. He was a people person. The world is certainly a lesser place without him. He will be missed.
