Donald Anderson Obituary

Donald Anderson
February 3, 1940 - January 11, 2022
Wichita, Kansas - Donald L. Anderson went to his heavenly home on January 11, 2022 at the age of 81 after a long and brave battle with cancer. After graduating from Creighton University Pharmacy School, he worked as a pharmacist in Omaha before owning his own pharmacy in Nebraska City for 8 years before moving to Wichita. In Wichita, he worked at Wesley Hospital and Dillons pharmacy until his retirement. A lifelong athlete, Don played football and ran track in high school and college. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed skiing, boating, and fishing. Don spent hours enjoying drawing and woodcarving, as well. He leaves a legacy of love for the outdoors, a sense of humor, and love for God, family, and country. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Art and Dorothy Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Kim (Chris), and Heather (Tom); grandchildren, Alexandria (Jesse), Andrew, and Landon; sister, Sandy (Gary) Akerstrom, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be at 10:30, on Saturday, January 22, at the Cozine Life Events Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with First Evangelical Free Church, and Victory in the Valley. Share condolences and view updated service information at www.cozine.com. Don was instrumental in teaching me the finer points of golf as we were both pharmacists; but I was a lousy golfer. Thanks Don

As a friend and fellow professional, I want to praise him for all the kindness, caring and love that was visible toward family, friends, co-workers and everyone that had the privilege to know him.

Sharon, I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know quite what to say to you. I am available to you night and/or day. You have gone through so much in a short length of time. I know you were strong for your wonderful daughters and Don, but healing will take a long time. Please let me know how I can help you anytime, day or night. I am saying prayers for both of you. May God Bless both Don and you.
