We were so lucky to have Emily as a wonderful addition to our family. She said she was lucky to have a second family but we, by far, were the lucky ones. She taught us courage and faith with all her strength to battle her disease for so long and still be happy all the time. She joked with all of us and the house was always brighter with her around. It will be hard to get along without her but I know she's better off where she is. I feel like we have an angel watching over all of us.

I never met Emily, but know what her spirit must have been like. I lost my 5 year old son and nearly 13 year old daugter to cystic fibrosis. It is a terrible disease, and is brutal for the families of those who suffer from it.

Be strong for each other - it is the best thing you can do. I pray the wonderful things your daughter was for you, will always be remembered and cherished.

I was so blessed all of my life to have had a favorite niece named Emily. Over the years, whenever I saw her, we called each other "BRAT". Whether these times together were at family holidays, at the Simon house or while she was a patient in the hospital, she always made me laugh no matter how sick she was. I am going to miss sending cards in the mail to Emily to encourage her and tell her one more time "I love you." I never stopped praying for her. I will always remember you, Emily, keeping your HS senior picture displayed in the front room. Attending your HS graduation was the greatest, and I will never forget when you, your Mom, Grandma Kak and I painted your room and then decorated in your favorite: horses. I know how blessed I have been to have had you in my life for almost twenty years. Now you can have fun and be more spoiled than you were here on earth by your three Grandpas. Emily, I will miss you so very much. I love you, Aunt Tam

To my beautiful baby cousin: words cannot express what you have taught me in a short 18 years that most people will not learn in a lifetime. I will never forget the holidays we spent together sneaking off from everyone. I will never forget the hospital visits where all you wanted from me was your hair straightned. To the randomn text I always got from you. You were truly my muse and such an inspiration. I watched you grow from the little girl i played barbies with (and as grandpa would say we could never turn our giggle boxes off) to the beautiful young woman you were before you left this earth. You beat the odds kiddo. And for that I am so grateful. Its always hard to let go, you will be missed so much. Say hello to grandpa and my daddy for me. Give them love. I know you would say not to cry because its not goodbye just see ya later. So... i cant promise no tears... but i will see ya later.

To my family:
We have a legacy to carry on. Emily loved everysingle one of us and she would want us to always remember the heart of a fighter she had. So in the spirit of Emily lets keep fighting and let her legacy live on. I love you all and will continue to.

Much love.
